TR250

Thanks to Harold Draken for requesting a version of my Triumph TR5 line drawing with a TR250 emblem, and following up with a suggestion to do a version with stripes. The TR5 was badged as the TR250 in the US, with a different engine but the same bodywork (and outsold the TR5 by 8,484 sales to 2,947). It came from the factory with transverse “racing stripes” across the hood – this addition to my drawing worked much better than I expected 🙂

Now available on a variety of products in my Redbubble and Teepublic stores

Triumph 2000 Mk2

Thanks to Glyn for his request for a Triumph 2000 Mk2 – I’d already done a Mk1 but the Mk2 was still on the to-do list. Turns out there’s two (at least) different grilles, the “early” and the “facelift”. The one on my list was the “early” (above right), Glyn wanted the “facelift” (above left), so I did them both 🙂

2021

Well, that’s another year flown by… against a background of continuing challenges the POD (Print On Demand) world has provided escape and an outlet for creativity, as well as a 33% increase in sales over the previous year and plenty of positive feedback, which is very gratifying. I now have just over 1,500 designs live and nearly 13,500 sales!

Redbubble introduced some new products in 2021 including mouse pads, desk mats and baseball hats. I haven’t sold any mouse pads (does anyone still use them?!) or desk mats yet but the hats have been very popular.

During the year I developed a few new styles, mainly based on my photos now that I have plenty to go at, and inspired by various car and commercial vehicle shows which after a slow start mostly went ahead. Very enjoyable with some spectacular locations and glorious weather, hundreds of classic cars, bikes and trucks in a field, what’s not to like?  Of course there were a few less glorious outings as well, with pouring rain and mud baths – the joys of an English summer 🙂 – but usually worth it to see the vintage machinery on display, our motoring heritage and especially poignant with the massive changes that are coming as we switch to electric power.

I wish you all good health, happiness and prosperity in ’22 and whatever it brings our way.

“Shepherd’s Delight” – a spectacular sunset, red sky at night – winner of the Bob Books November 2021 “Red” Photo of the Month competition \o/

Taken in front of our house, I chose to include the buildings in the foreground rather than just the sky, giving a sense of perspective as well as contrast between the stunning display of nature and the man made urban environment
